In the morning, we will discover Assisi, a Franciscan place par excellence, not only in Umbria and Italy, but all over the world. We will take a guided walk along its fascinating alleys, admiring the city's most remarkable sites: Basilica of St Francis, Church of Santa Chiara, Piazza del Comune, Cathedral of San Rufino, Church of San Damiano. After the guided tour lasting about 2 hours, we reach Valtopina for a special food and wine experience: La Caccia al Tartufo (Truffle Hunting). Truffle hunting in Umbria is an ancient tradition and our region produces the largest number of black truffles in Italy, the quality of which is famous throughout the world. Today, together with our experienced truffle hunter and his faithful dog, we will learn all about this tradition: the different types of truffles, their cultivation, their value, the search with a dog, and the uses of this product in cooking. And for those who still have some questions at the end of the hunt? Don't worry, the experience will end with a delicious tasting-lunch in the forest that will dispel any doubts! After lunch we will visit Spello or, as Julius Caesar called it, the Splendid Colonia Julia, an enchanting village of Roman origin, listed among the most beautiful villages in Italy, thanks to its rich environmental, cultural and artistic heritage.
